I Love Coffee. I love waking up to the smell of it. I love the little chocolate covered beans. I love the home brew and the fancy white chocolate mochas too. I find it funny that Seattlelites are so obsessed with our coffee. I've traveled a lot of places and no where else have I seen the ridiculous amounts of coffee stands or Starbucks anywhere but here. There's even titty stands where girls will serve you wearing nothing but scantily clad panties in the middle of the day (stay away from those..) When you get used to having coffee stands on every block, it makes it difficult to find good coffee spots once you leave the NW, unless of course you're in New Zealand where they have delicious flat whites. (Coffee contains antioxidants that may offer some cardiovascular protection, and research is showing that it reduces the likelihood of developing diabetes, which is itself a major heart disease risk factor. But it also increases homocysteine levels and may have negative effects on the aorta. In general, when a risk factor has been carefully studied and the results flip back and forth like this, it often means that if there is any harm or benefit, it’s pretty minor. ) Everything in moderation right?
